Clean & Clear; Active Clear Speed Clearing Acne Gel Review

6:05 PM

Acne are basically plugged or clogged pores on our skin.
Blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts, there are all different type of acne.
Before treating your acne you'll have to know what kind of acne do you have, some are hormonal, genetics or caused by environmental reasons.
I'll be talking mainly about pimple today which is also one kind of acne.
Before I start with my review there's a few things that you  should & shouldn't do when you have pimple.

1. Do not pop your pimples.
2. Do not over-cleanse and over-scrub your face. Gentle scrubbing once a week is fine but do not do it harshly or use abrasive scrubs when you have pimples,it will irritates the skin even more and make it worse.
3. Do not keep changing your treatment products (unless it irritates or causes any allergies to your skin) ,most products don't work in a day or two. Be patient.
4.Don't spend a fortune on expensive products and hope it'll immediately cure your acne supernaturally, some products might not work even it costs a fortune. Instead go for products with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid which is known to treat acne.
5.Know what you eat,our diet usually interlink with acne.
6.Keep your face clean, although some research may state that dirt has nothing to do with pimples but its better to prevent than cure.

Now that that's cleared up let's begin with my review.

Clean & Clear Active Clear Speed Clearing Acne Gel

What the product claims:
''Active clear speed clearing gel helps reduce appearance of acne fast. The fast acting micro-gel formula clears pimples from 4 hrs. Helps reduce the appearance of Redness - From 4 hrs, Size - From 4 hrs. Fast and effective solution for acne prone skin, leaves skin noticeably clearer...''

Usage Directions:
Apply and re-apply directly onto pimple as needed until pimple clears, for skin that's clean, clear and under control..

Ingredients:
Water, Alcohol Denat, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glycerin, Polyacrylamide, Cyclopentasiloxane, C13-14 Isoparaffin, C12-15 Alkyl Lactate, Salicylic Acid, Capryloyl Glycine, Sarcosine, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Extract, Cocamidopropyl PG Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Alcohol, Cetyl Lactate, PPG-2 Isoceteth-20 Acetate, Laureth-7, Polysorbate 20, Phenethyl Dimethicone, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Ammonium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzalkonium Chloride, Fragrance.

Packaging wise:
It comes in a squeeze tube with pointed nozzle which most acne treatment product comes in nowadays. Pointed nozzle gives an easy application but I would suggest wiping off any excess products after every use to prevent the bacteria from contaminating the rest of the products afterward.

Scent wise:
The scent is moderate, smells like an antibacterial soap to me.

Texture:
The texture reminds me of a serum or more or less like a very concentrated and thick toner.

Effectiveness from my point of view,it does somehow works on me. Please be reminded that I have combination skin so it might not work on other skin type. I apply a dollop the product this every night before I sleep on my pimple ( and also some pimple scars as it helps to lighten the scars) after toner application. Moisturizer and other skincare routine continues when the product dried slightly or completely. The next morning my pimple did shrink down and some faded away, even the scars too.
I can't provide any before and after photo as I didn't think it will work when I first tried this product out and it was highly recommended by a cousin of mine who said it worked magnificently on her. For those who wonder how long can this product last,I've been using it from the end of August till now (only when I have terrible breakouts which is throughout ending of August till the mid October) and it's still is going so don't be worried. A little goes a long way.
Quick reminder it does will give your skin a little minty not-so-annoying-and-irritating sting to your pimple when you apply, probably because the chemicals are doing its work.

Would I recommend? Definitely. Repurchase? When I really need one because I only face breakouts once in awhile or when I'm excessively exposed to air pollution or fattening food.

Quick tips for treating pimples,I suppose.
Do anti-acne mask once or twice a week. Don't use abrasive cleanser or scrubs. Drink plenty of water. Get enough rest. Wash your face at least once a day.
It retails for RM12 and you get 10g of the product at Watsons. Get it  here . You can also get it at other drugstore as well.

Thanks for spending some time here & HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
